ATP’s mission to inspire the next generation through theatre education hits a new high this summer as its Broadway Summer Training Camp returns with a whole new twist. Dare to Dream: The Road to Broadway features seven Broadway actors, who will share their stories of how they made it through song, dance, and personal interviews with the public in a one-night-only presentation July 20th. These same Broadway veterans, including a Julliard faculty member, will also be mentor 38 students between the ages of 11-18 from across the Flathead Valley and as far away as Hawaii, New York City, and Saskatchewan as part of ATP’s Broadway Summer Training Camp.
The mission of the Camp is to give serious musical theatre students the opportunity to learn 1-on-1 with real Broadway actors. Over the two weeks of the Camp, students will take classes in movement, vocal performance, song interpretation, and career development, working 6 hours a day with the Broadway faculty. The Camp will culminate in a joint student/faculty performance July 26 & 27 celebrating the dreamer in all of us, where the public will experience Broadway hopefuls performing alongside their Broadway veteran mentors for an unforgettable and inspiring event.
The Broadway Summer Training Camp Faculty includes:
Andy Taylor (Broadway productions of Once, Sunset Boulevard, On the Twentieth Century, Titanic, & Moon Over Buffalo)
N’Kenge (Julliard & Manhattan School of Music Grad who starred in Motown the Musical & Sondheim on Sondheim on Broadway)
